I love Rocky

I know this is a little late since 'Rocky Balboa' has been out in the theaters now for over a month. Yes, I tried to go opening night, but it didn't work out. I just would like to go on record as saying I loved it and might have shed a tear or two. I love Rocky. I love that he ended the cold war in Rocky IV. And I love that the underdog came back to make another movie after the not so great Rocky V.

I have always been a fan. I started jogging around the neighborhood when I was a kid after watching Rocky II for the first time; specifically the scene when the town starts running with him (and before it was cool for kids to jog for exercise). I have been to Philly and run up the 'Rocky steps'. I have the 'Gonna Fly Now' song on my ipod....

I do encourage everyone to go and see the final chapter to this great American story!

So Long, Farewell

Goodbye Holly Hobby sleeping bag...
Goodbye high school homecoming dress..
Goodbye textbooks I kept from college that I thought I would reference again...

Goodbye TV with an antenna...
Goodbye brass knick knacks...

So the
Vietnam Vets of America organization is coming to the house tomorrow for a donation pickup. Lupus does these too. Basically you set all of your unwanted crap outside of your house and they come get it and leave a tax receipt. It doesn't get any easier than that!

I have to admit the Holly Hobby sleeping bag was the toughest to part with and the item most debated. It was a present from Aunt Janet, and I think I slept in it more than a normal kid would use a sleeping bag. I sure hope it's not a collector's item.

How Many Girls Does it Take to Change a Tire?

Four.

One to locate all of the equipment.
One to read the user's manual.
One to exhaust herself cranking the jack.
One to thank the good Samaritans from Harrisonburg for helping to loosen the lug nuts.

Isn't lug nut such a funny word? I stopped by a gas station after we changed the tire to ask for help..."Can you tighten my lug nuts?" I couldn't help but giggle.

Thanks to Carly, Laura and Ali for your support and assistance with this monumental accomplishment!

Shots for Sunil

Sunil drew quite a crowd to celebrate his birthday this weekend. I don't know how he was able to manage Lauriol Plaza and late night Adam's Morgan pizza! And just to settle a little debate from earlier in the week that he had with Lisa, he sent this link to indicate that he is in fact Indian and Asian. www.indiansareasian.com/main.html

It was also great to have Johnson in town from Chicago!

New Years Resolutions

1. Update my Blog regularly
2. Wear more nail polish (this was inspired by Kirsten's wear more lipstick)
3. Stay in better touch with family and friends (Yes Jared, this means answering the phone)
4. Sell my house

Many thanks to Ashley and Chad for hosting a fabulous New Year's Eve!

(Note Kirsten is already doing well with her resolution)
