TMI

So, I have been going to the same dentist since I was about three in the hoodbridge. For some reason, I actually get up early to haul it down to the hood before work. I guess I like the idea of the familiar family service.

Dr. D's MO is that he usually tells a joke before getting down to business. Well, when I was a kid, these were cute stupid jokes of course. But, I'll never forget the day he decided I was an adult and gave me the dirty joke (reserved for adult audiences). So weird. The transition must be equally awkward for adults...do they feel uncomfortable spilling the dirt about things I am just not ready to hear?

I just realized I'm writing this like I'm still 18 or something. Have I ever done that to someone? Maybe it's an aging thing..like you don't really start noticing hair growing out of your ears, or you are no longer afraid to complain to the waitress about the undercooked hamburger, or when you start sharing too much about your health history with the neighbor kid?! "Hey, I've got this thing on my foot...."
